Teresa Collins eBosser Blog Hop

Welcome! Today is our special blog hop featuring the Teresa Collins eBosser!  We are so excited because Teresa is going to be on HSN on Tuesday, September 17th to show off the eBosser with all the great things that it can do.  To get her off to a great start, we are having a jam packed blog hop this weekend and there are a lot of giveaways too!

First off, if you stumbled here and would like to go back to the beginning of the hop…shoot on over to blog.craftwellusa.com!

If you came here from Cheripiles, then you are in the right place!  If you have gotten lost, no worries!  At the end of this post is a complete line up for you so you can find your place again.  Let’s get on with it!

For my project, I really wanted to show you how well the eBosser embosses and how well it cut those dies that we love to collect!  When I saw Teresa’s Family Stories collection, I felt the urge to do something that I really don’t do very often….a scrapbook layout.  That is right!  If you have been following me, then you know that I am primarily a card maker, but Teresa inspired me to go out of my comfort zone and create a scrapbook layout showing some pictures that I recently took of my little boy Mason.  Isn’t he a cutie?
DSC_0002
One of the great things about Teresa’s collections is that everything coordinates so well together that this type of layout works perfectly.  You almost don’t have to think about it!  The eBosser is an amazing companion to her collection because it allows you to take something that is already gorgeous and kick it up a notch!  Let’s take a look at a close up, so you can really see what I am talking about!
DSC_0002-2
OK, so see the black and white chevron doily?  Can you see how perfectly the eBosser cut out all of those tiny pieces?  It just amazes me every time!  In fact with this die, there is some embossing along the edges that you might be able to see.  Don’t strain yourself if you can’t, it is really tiny!  It is one of those things that you really appreciate in person.  Also, do you see the white and orange polka dot paper sticking out from under the doily?  That is a piece from the Family Stories collection that I simply embossed with one of the eBosser embossing folders created by Teresa Collins.  Because I wanted to use the black and white paper for underneath my pictures and then add in a little more of the orange, I needed to add some depth to this paper so it would be grounded and I was able to achieve that with embossing.  Pretty cool huh?
Now before I tell you all about the amazing giveaways, I want to point out some other really cool features of the eBosser that maybe you don’t know!
  • The Teresa Collins eBosser is universally compatible with any brand of die or embossing folder on the market. Yes, really!  With that 8 1/2” x 12” platform, you can even fit some of the large AccuCut dies!  Oh and if you use those really long AccuCut dies, you can even get a platform set to work with those.
  • Teresa Collins folders are large! {letter size}.  Love this because I can easily emboss a whole card front without worry that one edge is going to be unembossed.
  • Teresa Collins exclusively created this embossing folder line for Craftwell!
  • 10 designs of embossing folders available, with more to come in the fall!  Oh and did I mention that they are gorgeous and I want them all…really I do want them all!
  • HSN Teresa Collins eBosser bundle includes: Teresa Collins eBosser, two Teresa Collins embossing folders +two bonus Teresa Collins folders for ordering on HSN!, full platform set {which includes magnet shim, and rubber embossing mat!}.  Totally sweet package that allows you to emboss away right out of the box, what could be better?
  • World Launch of the Teresa Collins eBosser on HSN! Limited Quantity!  In other words, don’t wait to buy!  This could sell out and fast!
TC-Machine-Final-300dpi (2)
And one more thing…..Isn’t it pretty?!?!?!?!?!  Well done Teresa, well done!
So now it is GIVEAWAY TIME!!  That is right, there are lots to give away, so make sure to sign up!  Craftwell has generously put together prizes for 250 people!!!!  Woohoo!!!  The first 250 people that leave a comment on each and every blog in the hop will receive one of the new Teresa Collins designed eBosser embossing folders.  10 people will receive a tool kit and one lucky grand prize winner will receive a shiny new Teresa Collins eBosser!!!!

Back 2 School Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!!  Welcome to the Back 2 School Blog Hop!!  If you came here from Cassie’s Blog….you are in the right place!  If you just happened upon the Blog Hop, please start over at Cassie’s Blog so that you don’t miss out.  There are giveaways along the way and Craftwell is giving away an eCraft Machine!!

When I get my boys ready to go back to school, we always come up with a little gift to give the teacher to welcome him or her back as well.  Usually we like to include some school supplies because teachers can’t seem to get enough school supplies!  A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by State Line Bag Company and they asked me to try out some of their new Premium Muslin bags.  I just knew that these would be perfect for my teacher gift.  These bags are perfect for packaging so many kinds of things.  They are made from a high quality muslin and come in lots of different sizes.

To start my project, I turned to a Lettering Delights Cut Its Set called Toad-ally School.  I selected my image and then using Make the Cut, manipulated it by using the Boolean Join function so that I actually created a stencil of each color.  Then I cut out each one in vinyl.  Next, I took some scrap cardstock and placed it inside the bag.  I applied the first vinyl stencil.

20120819-DSC_0004-1

Then I painted it in…

20120819-DSC_0005-1

Then removed the stencil…

20120819-DSC_0006-1

Once the paint is dry, apply the next layer and repeat until all done.

Now, I couldn’t stop there.  I decided to add the teacher’s name to the bag using a thin metal die and fabric and to do that I used my trusty eBosser.  I am guessing that you want to see how I did that, so I made you a little video…

Here is the final project!

Craftwell Bunny Blog Hop

Welcome!  If you came here from Debi Tullier’s blog, you are in the right place!  If not, then start at the beginning at Kim Gaughn’s blog!  We have an amazing line up to share with you and you won’t want to miss a thing!  Oh, and before I forget….there are some giveaways too!  More about that in a bit!

Our theme for this blog hop is SPRING!  I just love spring!  Where I live we tend to have some grueling winters and so when we get that first touch of spring, it is like a saving grace.  The start of a new life.  This year has been SO different in that we had an incredibly mild spring.  We only had I think 2 snowfalls that needed shoveling or snow blowing.  That is unheard of around here.  A few years ago, I remember a big snowstorm on the Saturday before Easter.  This year we have had the warmest March on record and I even got out the shorts for the boys and we have already done quite a bit of outdoor activities.  Just amazing!

20120316-DSC_0061-1

For my project today, I could not resist using some products that I have had lying around my studio for awhile and haven’t used yet.  One of those was some PaperLayerz by Megan Elizabeth.  I am loving these!  The PaperLayerz are made from the same cardstock base as the eCraft Diecutable Cardstock which is my favorite cardstock for cutting.  The PaperLayerz look like this…

image

The cool thing that I like is that the patterns in the paper are very subtle so that they don’t distract away from your focal point at all.  In the flower that I cut from the “Spring is Bliss”  Set from Lettering Delights, I used the patterned squares only and it really adds such a nice touch.  Take a closer look…

20120316-DSC_0063-1

Now, to accentuate that gorgeous flower, I turned to some products from Papertrey Ink that I haven’t played with yet.  I started out with an Ocean Tides cardbase (great color match to the flower stem) and added on top of that a piece of Sweet Blush cardstock that was die cut with the Quatrefoil Cover Plate Die.  This die is made to give you a base for a standard A2 size card.  I also used some Sweet Blush cardstock to die cut the label from the Christmas label die.  I used the Sweet Spring stamp set to stamp the decorative elements onto that label and the “You” came from the Simply You stamp set.

Next I utilized some more of Papertrey Ink’s Movers and Shakers dies.  This time I used the Sliders and cut those from Aqua Mist cardstock and assembled it and placed it right on the cardfront.  Note:  If I had to do this again, I would have lined the back of the slider with another piece of cardstock because my flower gets caught on the Quatrefoil die and doesn’t slide as nicely as I would like it to.  Oh well, live and learn right?  Now of course, before I assembled the slider, I had to decorate the inside so for that I again turned to the Sweet Spring stamp set.

20120316-DSC_0062-1

I stamped the flowers a few times and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  I then colored in the flowers with some Perfect Pearls mixed with a little water.  The “are beautiful inside and out” sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s Simply You stamp set and the “Pull Here” on the tab is from their Movers & Shakers Sentiments stamp set.

I really used a lot of thin metal dies on this project and as I was running them through one at a time in my Big Shot…I kept daydreaming of the day when my eBosser comes home.  I would have been able to run all of these dies through at once with that larger cutting platform!  Imagine how much more efficient I would be!  Like many of you, my crafting time is valuable so this is something that I am really looking forward to.  Just like how the eCraft made better use of my crafting time by not using a sticky mat, the eBosser I am sure will do the same thing in that I can cut more on one pass through the machine.  Can’t wait!!!

20120316-DSC_0061-1

Now, don’t go away just yet!!!   I have a little giveaway for all of you!  I have a $15 dollar gift certificate to Lettering Delights to giveaway…all you have to do is become a follower on my blog and leave me a comment on this post telling me what you are looking forward to doing with the eBosser.  You have until Sunday, April 1st 10 PM CST to enter my giveaway so don’t delay!

Now, after you have done that you can head over to the eCraft by Craftwell blog for the final stop and there is another giveaway there so make sure you sign up for that one too!

Here is the full list of stops in case you have gotten lost along the way!  Have a great hop everyone and I will announce the winner of my giveaway bright and early Monday morning!

While the Cat’s Away…the Mice Will Play Blog Hop!

Boy, this sure has been a great hop so far!!!  Only two more stops to go! If you have arrived here from Debi Tullier’s blog, you are in the right place!!!  If you would like to join in on all the festivities, be sure to start at KimberlyRae’s blog!

Today in honor of the eBosser, I have a special giveaway!  I am giving away to one lucky person a Spellbinders Label #6 die set.

image

The eBosser can cut almost any die and these will be great to use in the eBosser!  I will explain how to enter to win this, but first I want to share with you my project!!!

With the theme of Love & Valentines, I just had to use this image from eCraftCentral.com!

image

Isn’t that gorgeous!!  I am hoping that more images from the Ella collection come to eCraftCentral soon.  I had the idea to use this image with a “shower of hearts” so here is what I came up with.

DSC_0022-4

I cut the Ella image from black cardstock and put it on a white card front.  To create the “shower of hearts”  I cut out several 1/2” hearts from Fundamentals 1 SD card.  I also went through several of my stamp sets and found lots of little hearts and stamped them on the card base to create a little dimension.  After my card front was completed, I put it on a card base made from Papertrey Ink Berry Sorbet cardstock.

Next I went to work on my sentiment strip.  Using my computer and a handwritten font, I created a banner shape that was wide enough to add the “love”.

DSC_0023-3

Isn’t that “love” beautiful?  Well I got that from eCraftCentral.com too!

image

I cut that out of the same red cardstock that I used for the hearts.  This cardstock is AMAZING!!  We are also going to be featuring this on the eCraft Design Team starting next week, so be on the lookout for this.  That “love” is only about 1/2” tall and cutting something like that on cardstock is difficult, but this new cardstock makes it a breeze!

GIVEAWAY TIME!!!

To win the Spellbinders Label #6 die set, you must be follower of my blog and leave me a comment on this post with a way to contact you.  International friends are welcome although I will substitute an electronic gift certificate in lieu of the die set because of the shipping.  You have an entire week to get your comments in (only 1 per person please) and I will announce the winner on Saturday February 4th! Good luck everybody!

eCraft Sewing Blog Hop

Welcome to the eCRAFT SEWING BLOG HOP! All of the fabulous designers on this hop are showing you a SEWING OR FABRIC THEMED project using the fabulous and versatile eCraft.

If you just arrived here from Debi Tullier’s blog then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon my blog please start at the beginning over at Raven’s Blog. That way you will be able to see all of the amazing projects and you will have more ways to win. And boy do we have a great prize in store for you! More on that later...on with my project!

Now, I have a confession...I am not very good at sewing.  Just ask my 7th grade Home Economics teacher!  I always joke that my sewing inabilities are a source of anguish to my mother, because she is a very talented and accomplished quilter.  In fact, the only reason why I have a sewing machine is because my mother insisted that I needed it.  She is not so thrilled that I use it only on paper...LOL!  When I try to use it on fabric, it ends up looking like a garbled mess, but that did not stop me from tackling this challenge.
Here is my project for the hop!  Oh and please pardon my extremely messy hairdo!  And thank you to my hubby for taking these pictures!

Those flowers that you see where created entirely out of fabric!

Here is a list of what I used:
  • Cotton fabric (I use either scraps that my mother gave me or the quilting squares that you can get at most fabric stores) I used two coordinating fabrics for each, but you could use more if you like.
  • Heat N Bond Ultrahold
  • eCraft cutting machine of course!
  • Lettering Delights Simple Flower Shapes SVGs (I used Flower #7 and added two more layers using the Shadow Layer feature in MTC)
  • Alligator Hair Clips (purchased at Hobby Lobby)
  • Hair Combs (purchased at Hobby Lobby)
  • White Silk Ribbon (mine is from Papertrey Ink)
  • Copic Markers for coloring ribbon
  • Embroidery Floss in coordinating colors (I used two strands)
  • Hot Glue Gun and glue sticks

The first thing that I did was apply the Heat N Bond Ultrahold to the back of the fabric with my iron.  I then cut out all four of my flowers shapes with my eCraft.  I did NOT remove the paper backing from the Heat N Bond before cutting and this is crucial in the next step.  Once all the pieces are cut, it is now time to start layering the flower.  Remove the paper backing from the top layer and place it on top of the second layer and then press with your iron.  The paper backing should still be on the second layer, otherwise you will have a mess all over your ironing board!  Proceed one layer at a time until you have all the pieces adhered to one another.  You will need to keep your iron in place a little longer with each additional layer.

The next step is to apply any additional embellishments. First off, remove the paper backing off the back of the flower.  For my projects, what I did was punch a 3/16" hole in the middle of the flower.  I then used one of my buttons that has the knob on the back.  I pushed that knob through the hole.  For one of these buttons, I needed to make the hole a little bigger so I just overlapped my hole punch slightly to make it just big enough.  I then threaded some embroidery floss into a needle and inserted that needle into the hole of the knob on the back side of the flower.  I then used my Copic marker to color my silk ribbon, but you could skip this step and just go with a ribbon that is already the color that you want.  I think the thinner the ribbon you use the better for this.  I laid my ribbon on top of the thread and tied the thread in a knot around the ribbon.  I then also tied the ribbon in a knot to insure that it stayed in place.  I purposely made the length of the ribbon on each side uneven as I think it is more interesting for this project.  I also decided to leave the trailing ends of the embroidery floss hanging down.  There are lots of possibilities here on what you can do to embellish the flower so have fun with it!

Now, we are at the point where we need to heat up our hot glue guns.  For the alligator clip (pink) one, I added a few green felt leaves (that I just quickly hand cut) to help cover up the clip.  With that knob button it works best, if you position the knob in the "crook" of the barrette.  I just glued in place and let it cool off.   For the hair comb (black and white) one,  there is a curve to the hair comb, so I glued one side in place, let that cool off, and then wrapped the flower around the opposite side and glued again.  All in all, this project really did not take me long at all.

I think these would be really cute for flower girls at a wedding especially if you made them in the wedding colors!

DON'T STOP YET!!!  We have some amazing prizes in store for you, so make sure that you follow the entire hop and enter to win on everyone's blog!

Blog Hop Extension!

You are not too late!!

Due to some people having trouble leaving comments in Blogger, we have extended the deadline for leaving comments until August 22nd.

This will apply to the eCraft giveaway (as seen above) and the giveaway of 3 clear tumblers (as seen below...note that these are completely clear so you can decorate them yourself and they come with clear straws)

Just a note...I had some trouble myself leaving comments, so I switched to Google Chrome and was able to do it from that browser instead of my usual Internet Explorer, so if you are having trouble, you might want to try that!

HERE is the post that explains the requirements for the giveaways and also will give you the list of all the fabulous designers in the eCraft Back to School Blog Hop!

eCraft Back to School Blog Hop

Welcome to the BACK TO SCHOOL BLOG HOP! All of the fabulous designers on this hop are showing you a BACK TO SCHOOL project using the fabulous and versatile eCraft.

Here is my project for the hop!

This is a gift for my son's teacher and I hope she likes it!  I have so much fun doing vinyl projects and this one was no exception!  I made videos to document the creation of this project so that you can easily scraplift it from me! I broke it up into 3 videos to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for!

First up, this video will show you how I used various tools in Make the Cut to create multi-layers out of a single layer image.  This is so much fun to do!

In this next video, I used the new Conical Warp feature in MTC to get the vinyl to wrap onto the tumbler nice and smooth.  I also show how to do this when you are using multiple colors on the tumbler!

In this last video, I show you how I apply vinyl onto rounded objects like this.

Here is a list of what I used:

  • Small paint can from Michael's
